death by internet?

was talking to a friend just now on the msn; ranting to her about the wedding preparation.

how much reviews and homework we have to read/do online whenever we are trying to make new decisions such as deciding on the hotel, bridal studio, photographer, videographer, bed, lighting, wardrobe, this and that, etc etc..

yes, these reviews help.
very much, in fact.

but these information can get so overwhelming that it frightens people.

in the past, there were no internet around to help.
people rely on word-of-mouth, advertisement, or just by pretty shop decor.
like my sister for example.. during her time of wedding prep, there were no internet information available, but i can still remember her wedding being so perfect.

nowadays.. we even rely on reviews for food. whenever we decide to try some new restaurant, internet is the 1st place we check for bad comments. even so, after all the splendid comments that we read, the restaurant might still not end up to our liking.

so are we wasting too much time on the internet trying to get reviews for everything we do?

well, i'm not taking chances. though i'm absolutely tired of information overload.

now excuse me, while i go read up on which brand of mattresses are the "best"..
